Concept

Immerse yourself in the fundamentals of acrylic painting in this two-day workshop designed for students who are just getting their start in the medium. Establish your painting toolkit, complete with a foundation in basic color theory and color mixing, paint application, and methods for using acrylic mediums.

Experience

Through demonstrations and skill-building exercises explore traditional and experimental painting techniques. Work toward producing a finished painting prompted by technical exercises. Lydia provides individualized instruction and feedback throughout the painting process. An encouraging group conversation closes each day.

Skill Level

No prior experience necessary.

SUPPLY LIST

INSTRUCTOR

Lydia Dildilian’s work translates layered landscapes, found and captured from video games, photographs, and appropriated images into recursive and experimental spaces. She has been included in dozens of solo and group exhibitions, as well as publications and private collections. Lydia earned her MFA from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She is an Assistant Professor of Painting at Arkansas State University.
