Tues-Fri, Aug 11-14 | 1pm-4pm
Members: $185 | Non-Members: $200
Concept and Experience
In this workshop, students discover the process of relief printmaking, as well as the basics of working in a printmaking studio. With a focus on ecological subjects, students carve and print woodcut and linoleum blocks, as well as make multi-color reduction prints with Ripley as their guide. Methods for translating images into prints, navigating texture, creating sound compositions, and mixing color are also shared. Final prints are completed both with and without a press, including printmaking with unconventional matrixes. No prior printmaking experience necessary.
