Instructor

Richard Blumenstein is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of traditional and contemporary forms of visual storytelling. Much of his work is inspired by mythology, nature, and the human condition. He is fascinated by the space where the real and the fantastical overlap, and he strives to create images that feel at once timeless and alive with narrative possibility. Teaching has also been an important part of Richard's artistic journey; shaping how he thinks about fundamentals such as line, color, space, and composition. That discipline informs everything he creates, and he approaches each piece with the same commitment to craftsmanship, intentionality, and storytelling. Richard holds an MFA in Game Design, MAE in Curriculum Design, and BFA in Computer Animation and Multimedia.
