Demonstrations and hands-on exercises address best practices for maintaining your lens, how to choose your settings based on the lens and subject matter combination, and all the tricks to get the most interesting effects in your close up photos. Leave this workshop with beautiful shots and the knowledge to continue capturing macro photos with confidence.

Skill Level

Open to beginner and intermediate photographers. A DSLR camera is required. New to the world of macro photography and looking for a cost effective way to test it out? Consider opting for a "macro extension tube" to convert your existing lens into a temporary macro.

Instructor

Kasey Hembel entered college as an art major with emphases in ceramics and painting. Introduction to Photography and an assertive professor taught her to see images in a way she had never considered before. Kasey couldn't get enough of it. Fast forward, she now co-owns and operates Kasey and Ben Photography, is the founder of Mama + Maker, and teaches semester-long courses at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and beyond. In her free time, Kasey can be found outside, spending time with family, and over celebrating anything that can be celebrated.
