Current Artists-in-Residence

Fall 2025

Linda Jurkiewicz

Linda Jurkiewicz (she/her) lives in Kansas City, MO. Holding a degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Music Therapy, she began her visual art practice in earnest in 2005. She credits her upbringing as a first-generation Ukrainian-Croatian for her “make-do” attitude and her delight in upcycling repurposed materials, especially “woman’s work” such as dish towels, household items, and clothing. Linda’s consequential fiber work incorporates soft sculpture, wordplay, idiom, embroidery, wall hangings, plush form, sequential dioramas, and installations which delve into the cultural roles of women in America over the last century. She incorporates a sense of humor that pushes viewers to reexamine the roles and expectations women have been hoping to change since the First Wave of Feminism, to trade nostalgia for empowerment.

Emily Walley

Emily Walley (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist living in Minneapolis, MN. Her painting explores how time and memory shape perception, collapsing multiple moments and perspectives onto a single surface. The work reflects upon the fluidity between digital archives, physical landscapes, and lived experiences. Emily earned her BFA in Studio Art from University of Wisconsin Stout, and MFA in Visual Art from WVU College of Creative Arts. She has recently exhibited in the Midwest, and her first solo show is in June 2026 at Vine Arts Center in Minneapolis, MN.
