Concept and Experience

Focusing on form, color, and texture, this workshop dives into ceramic hand building techniques with food as inspiration. Using pinch, coil, and slab techniques, young artists create pastries, fruits and veggies, delicious entrees, and more. Learn how to layer three-dimensional elements, render textured surfaces, and add color using bright underglazes to make ceramic food appear good enough to eat. A final clear glaze ensures all pieces are safe for handling.
