Concept
Create exciting and captivating landscapes as you learn how to harness the versatility of pastels that so many overlook. This four-day workshop explores how to use under and overpainting techniques with a variety of tools, as well as how to incorporate other mediums.
Experience
Daily presentations address how to use compositional strategies, value, and color harmonies to strengthen your paintings, while exercises help you improve upon your unique style and approach. Exploration and experimentation are encouraged throughout the week. Leave this workshop with new ideas, inspiration, and skills to inform your future work.

INSTRUCTOR
Carol Strock Wasson's work encompasses the genre of the rural area she lives in; focusing on color, shape, design, and spontaneity in the plein air tradition, as well as in the studio. Though she works primarily in pastel, she also uses oils, monotype processes, and watercolor. She is a Signature Member of American Women Artists, a Master Pastellist Member of Chicago Pastel Painters, of Master Circle status with the International Association of Pastel Socieities, and a recent Master with the Pastel Society of America. Carol's dedication is evident through her record of awards, exhibitions, and plein air events. She teaches and works out of her studio in Indiana and is committed to sharing the importance of fundamentals in art, no matter the medium.
