Concept
Watercolor is the perfect medium to use for painting water and reflections. Because of its transparency, it allows us to create effects that other mediums cannot. In this four-day workshop, learn about color and how to use it to paint still and broken water reflections, when to add color for soft and lost edges, and how to paint rocks beneath the water's surface.
Experience
Daily demonstrations and group discussions emphasize the importance of the tools of value, color intensity, color temperature, and color mixing. Ample hands-on practice focuses experimenting, having fun, and letting the paint and water flow; allowing them do the work. Catherine provides individualized instruction and feedback throughout each day.
Skill Level
Open to advanced beginners and beyond. Some watercolor experience preferred.

INSTRUCTOR
Tired of trying to remove oil paint from her clothing, Catherine Hearding’s mom gave her her first set of tube watercolors at age 11 and she never looked back. Her 40-year career includes many achievements; most recently, the High Winds Medal from the American Watercolor Society. In the classroom, Catherine believes there is always something of merit in students’ work. She reinforces the good, while making suggestions for improvement for the rest. When not teaching or painting, she loves to garden, golf, hike, and travel.
