Peninsula School of Art has been the place for kids to create in Door County since the School’s founding in 1965. It is our mission to provide quality art education for students of all ages. Our Summer Studios for Young Artists faculty members are professional artists and seasoned educators who hold a strong commitment to teaching nearly 40 workshops. Along with encouragement and a spirit of play, our summer program offers age-appropriate curriculum that builds important skills in the full spectrum of 2-D and 3-D media. Students ages 3 ½ to 17 can fill their summer days with the discovery of new media, mixing literature with art, exploring the gardens of PenArt, and visiting the exhibits in the Guenzel Gallery.
Also included in our summer programming are our multi-generational family classes designed to promote positive conversation and artistic collaboration between a child and parent or grandchild and grandparent. In the Madeline Tourtelot Studios, families work together to explore new media, share their family’s history, and collaborate ideas to create a unique pieces of art.
