We explore the roots, and both the practical and decorative uses of folk art from four countries. With works from the southern United States, Mexico, India and China, a viewer indulges in a visual feast of many cultures.
Used mainly for the starting point or substrate of creative endeavors, paper takes center stage as a chosen medium for sculptural works. From wall hung to freestanding pieces, the possibilities are unlimited.
Housed in a 2-story structure reminiscent of historic Wisconsin rounds barns, the Guenzel Gallery displays themed exhibitions of nationally recognized artists’ works throughout the year. These exhibitions celebrate both process and finished work, offering visitors of all ages insight, inspiration and art education. The gallery and opening receptions are free and open to the public.
